Again, Suspected Fulani Gunmen Hit Southern Kaduna: Half Naked Women Protest
In continuation of the vendetta spree in Southern Kaduna, unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen and their mercenaries have again unleashed terror on the peace loving people of Hayin-Gada (Gada Biyu) village, along Jos-Abuja road, in Godogodo Chiefdom in Jemaa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack which started late in the night and continued till day break is said to have claimed six lives with many still missing, wounded and many properties lost. The late night attack which went without any intervention from security personnel is said to be a follow-up of the attack earlier carried out around noon attacked by this same group that claimed the lives of 2 women & a man while in their farm.
Meanwhile, there was a massive protest by half-naked women around the area this afternoon against the genocide going on in the area unabated. Bare bodied, face painted women were seen to have blocked the road leading to Kafanchan.
The women who are mainly from Ninte and the surrounding villages are demanding government intervention to stop the increasing cases of night killings, rape, and arson by some assailants in the area. According to their spokesperson, Mrs. Deborah Reuben, the government has been insensitive to their plight since the incident started in May. “The situation is unhealthy as it is no longer safe. The government we voted into power has left us at the mercy of armed herdsmen, farms cannot be cultivated in the face of high level of impunity,” she lamented.
