The Autum of Akurmi (Kurama) Youth

Immorality, drunkenness and drug abuse: the world we are living in today is one that is accommodating moral decay, leading our youth into vices that can only be detrimental to their well-being and development in life.

This immorality is facilitated by the abandonment of our values for foreign cultures. The Akurmi youth is not immuned to these negative influence such as drug abuse, prostitution, sexual immorality, theft and many more.

The above vices have the potential of stopping the Akurmi youth from harnessing their potentials in the 21st century. Due to the effect of immorality: lives have been lost, dreams have been shattered, and futures destroyed.

The possible solution to this menace is through adequate counseling and guidance of our youths to desist from acts that are detrimental to their growth and development in the 21st century.

We must resist popular cultures that are destructive by holding some of the cultures that the Akurmi people are known for. We should use all our social structures to combating it starting with the family, peer groups, community associations, religious and traditional institutions.

This is important because it is our future and that of the Akurmi nation that is at stake.
