Governor Rufai Abolishes Sales of Admission Forms

The Kaduna State government at its cabinet meeting in the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House abolished the payment of fees for admission forms and processing by applicants seeking admission into tertiary institutions owned by the state government.

This development was made known by the state commissioner for Education Dr. Shehu Usman-Adamu when he spoke to journalist shortly after the cabinet meeting.

He said the present government frowns at the situation where admissions into higher institutions over the years were treated as a source of revenue to the government.

In the same vein, the government also ordered all non-teaching occupants of school quarters to vacate the premises within 90 days and that teachers transferred to other schools must vacate their official quarters within six months.
